About Ryan

The guy leaders call when their team is almost there.

Coach, facilitator, occasional children's-book author, full-time believer that healthy teams and clear priorities beat any process.

I've spent my career in the space between the work and the business — translating goals into work the team can actually deliver, and translating operational reality back into something leadership can act on. Along the way I noticed the same pattern: the teams that consistently deliver aren't the ones with the fanciest tools or the most process. They're the ones with clear priorities, honest conversations, and someone who removes the obstacles in their way.

That's the work I do now. I help executives, founders, and engineering leaders build healthier, more productive teams. Sometimes that means embedding with a team for a few months. Sometimes it's coaching leaders one-on-one. Sometimes it's a single workshop that resets how a team communicates. The goal is always the same: stronger teams, better execution, better results.

I've earned four professional certifications along the way, and I keep learning constantly — new books, new courses, new perspectives every year. But the credentials aren't the point. The point is teams that trust each other enough to be honest, leaders who unblock instead of micromanage, and businesses that can count on what their teams say they'll deliver.

When I'm not helping a team get unstuck, I'm in the Colorado mountains, writing children's books that will probably never see a bookshelf, or losing sleep over the Avs, Broncos, Nuggets, Buffaloes, Rapids, Summit, and yes — even the Rockies.

Reality over prediction

Great teams make decisions based on what's actually happening, not what they hoped would happen. That mindset is what makes progress durable.

People before process

Courage, respect, openness, commitment, focus. Get the human dynamics right and most of the process problems solve themselves.

A framework, not a religion

There's no single right way to run a team. I adapt what works to your business, your people, and your product — not the other way around.

Energy is a leading indicator

If your team dreads their meetings, something's broken. Engaged teams outperform disengaged ones every single time.
